[Wellness Wednesday] Stress Management Tips And Techniques

Happy Wednesday everyone! As I mentioned in my last post, today I wanted to share some information about managing stress. Chronic stress can affect both our emotional and our physical dimensions of wellness, and could even have an impact on our social, and perhaps spiritual dimensions as well.

Stress is unavoidable. We all have stressors in our lives, and learning to manage that stress so that it doesn’t impact our health is key. I thought I’d share a few links to articles, a stress management worksheet, and even a stress management workbook. These are some great resources to help us deal with those unexpected events, undesirable encounters, or less-than-ideal circumstances we all face from time to time.

Speaking of stress being unavoidable, I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA from the blogosphere this week. My husband has been in the hospital since a little after midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning, and I’ve been spending my days there with him. Once I got home at night, I was just too exhausted to do anything other than watch a little TV before bed. Thankfully, he’s home now and feeling much better, so I hope to get caught up with everyone over the next few days.

  1. A very important topic, and some great resources so thanks for sharing. I like printable like the stress management worksheet so I’ll give that one a print for my folder.

    1. Thank you so much Caz! I’m glad you liked that worksheet – I thought it looked really useful. I like to have things printed out also. I’m just so tactile it’s helpful for me to be able to see and write things on paper rather than just reading them on the computer.

He was fussing about being bored when I got to the hospital yesterday morning so I knew he was ready to come home.😊 I hope you found some useful information in the articles – I was really impressed with how much great information was out there.     1. Thank you so much Alyssa! I’m happy to report that my hubby is back to his normal chipper self! We even went out and ran a couple of errands today.

      Stress really does affect us all, and finding productive ways to deal with it is so important. The problem is that, as with everything else, what works for one person may not work for another. I personally suspect that our personality determines not only how we react to stress, but the best ways to deal with it as well. I hope you’re able to find something useful in some of the articles. I liked that there were so different tips and techniques.

      1. Oh my goodness I am SO happy to hear your hubby is back to “normal”!!!! I am not sure about where you are, but we are just dealing with HOT weather and I would be happy to send it your way!

        You are SO right! We do all handle stress different and our personality does dictate how we handle stress. My personality handles it in the WRONG ways and I can not let things go. I always want to help others even when it makes me stressed. I promise to try to learn better ways.
        Writing is SO helpful to me and all the fantastic people I have met by writing is wonderful.

        I wish you and your hubby lots of rest and healing!!!
