I was thinking about what a wonderful community bloggers comprise, which made me think about what a fantastic resource we are when we combine our knowledge and talent. With that in mind, I decided to do a feature called What’s Your Favorite….?

It’s an opportunity for us to share and learn from one another. Each Friday I’ll ask a different “What’s Your Favorite?” question and hopefully, we can get some great ideas from each other. So today’s question is….

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

  1. Oh no, I don’t know if I can easily participate in this one as I’m back on a limited diet and hugely missing the likes of fruit with skins! My favourite snack used to be grapes, green seedless grapes, I think I could have lived off them. At the moment, I think my ‘healthy’ snack is this cereal bar I’ve found (and have stocked up with a cupboard full of them) that’s only small but it’s got oats and such in it, it’s soft and has a few white chocolate chips for sweetness, yum!

  2. My husband said I should share our newest “favorite” for any of you who has a sweet tooth…. I make nut clusters from walnuts, dried cherries, and dark chocolate. They’re the easiest thing in the world to make, and just one cluster will satisfy that craving for something sweet. I just melt my chocolate (this last batch I used Ghiradelli melting wafers, but regular dark chocolate chips work well too), stir in the dried cherries, and stir in enough walnuts to make sure everything is lightly coated with chocolate. Once that’s done, you just drop them by the spoonful – you’ll want to use a bigger spoon for this – onto parchment paper and let them cool until the chocolate is set. Once they’re cooled down, I just put them in an airtight container and leave them on the counter for when we want that little bite of sweetness.

  3. Home made bark soak oats in apple juice overnight … Mix maple syrup, chopped nuts, sunflower seeds, and desicated coconut with the moist whole oats. Pressed and shaped in a baking sheet bake on medium heat for 30 minutes. Cut while hot but don’t remove until cold. This is a gorgeous snack but only healthy if you don’t eat it all in one sitting. The less healthy option has a coating of salted caramelbrushed over to glaze.

  4. Fruits (bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, strawberries) and nuts/trail mix have got to be my favorite go-to healthy snacks. πŸ™‚ I love your idea of setting up this lovely forum every Friday to share our ideas. Also LOVED your snack idea, thanks for sharing the recipe!!

    1. I also like the fruit and nuts – you can just grab them and go. I’m glad you like the idea sharing. I thought it would be a way for us to learn from one another. I hope you enjoy the walnut clusters. My husband likes them made with cashews and dried cranberries also. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hmm…my favorite healthy snack…so many to choose from lol but I would have to say my favorite would be yogurt in all it’s forms and glory lol including this frozen yogurt that my fiance and I are nuts about. It’s an espresso flavored with chocolate shavings and it is amazing! πŸ˜€
